Happy Belated Mothers Day!!!

More glass ware. I just can’t seem to stay away from it. Good thing it is MD weekend, because I can ride that train all the way to the more milk glass and California pottery station and Mr. Right technically can’t say a thing.

Speaking of Mothers Day….

I made the best ding dang banana cake EVAH! Do you see how much icing is on that cake? Ooooooh….

As soon as I finish this post I am eating that particular piece of cake in bed while watching Army Wives and Real Housewives of the OC.

Now that’s Mothers Day!

I really wanted to frost it with peanut butter frosting, but we were celebrating with my family and my nephews have a peanut allergy. I didn’t want them to go into whatever phalactic shock thing it is that people go into when they eat things they are allergic too.

Like the time we were at a wedding and I watched from across the room (as if in slow motion) while Mr. Right plucked a crab ball off one of those little appetizer platters that the waiters were passing. The whole time I am thinking ‘Is he going to eat that crab ball?’ (because he has that shellfish allergy thing) and oh yeah, gobbles it right up while I yell ‘Noooooooo’ in that really weird slow motion voice that kinda sounds like when they try to protect people’s identity in the witness protection program or something.

So I race over there and say ‘Hello…CRAB BALL’ and he says ‘I thought it was imitation’.

Really, Mr. Right?

Cuz we are at THE RITZ.

Then a big Hoop-De-Doo ensued while we got the security guard to run to the gift shop and get him some benadryl, (STAT as they say) which you know at the Ritz was like $17 a package, but they didn’t charge us so I guess we made out pretty good on that deal.

But I digress.

Finally!

A piece of milk glass that I didn’t already have. I snatched this right up for 70 cents.

Vintage Ball jars. These were made to commemorate the bicentennial in 1976. $2

Wouldn’t they be perfect filled with red & white M&M’s for a 4th of July party?

Vintage amber tea cups. I love these (another eyeroll from Mr. R.) Not sure I could drink tea or coffee from them, but I could fill them up with wine I guess.

They were 40 cents each. I am running into a dilemma though, because I am starting to run out of room for my treasures.

This is only about 1/3 of my treasure.

Yikes.

I managed to clear a little spot on the bottom for the new milk glass piece, but there was no way the cups were fitting in there. Some of those pieces are listed on ebay, so as soon as they sell I can fit the cups.

For now they live on the top of the cabinet by Walter the train.

Walter was a gift from my sister. My dad worked on the railroad for 40 years, so we love train stuff, especially train stuff that holds booze.

I named him Walter because of this:

Isn’t that the coolest? I wonder if Terry & Charles sat around with Walter and clinked their glasses. I wonder if they worked together. Maybe Walter worked the railroad like my dad and this was a retirement gift.

Maybe he just liked trains.

Or booze.
