I am 40 years old. Loving life and (finally) being a grown up. I have 3 great kids that sometimes make me want to drink copious amounts of wine. I have been married to my amazing husband since 2001. I have more fabulous girlfriends than you can shake the proverbial stick at.  I like to throw parties, bake, thrift, garage sale, read, and drink wine. Hang with me for awhile. It is sure to be a wildly imperfect ride……

Minnesota Judge gives 7 year old right to decide custody.
A seven year old boy was at the center of a county courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy had a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him..
After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Minnesota Vikings, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

I couldn’t find your email so here you go. Yuk it up with the rest of the misplaced cheeseheads. Matt

Howdy! I saw your mention of the Bassett dish as I was doing some on-line searching. I too have many pieces of beautiful china with the old-fashioned way of spelling you-know-what-country, which I will not try to spell here. My grandmother gave it to me and she has been dead since the early 90’s, and she got it from her sister who was dead long before that, maybe the 70’s. Granny was about 95 when she died, so I’m thinking this stuff is between 75 to 100 years old. I wish I could find out how old it is, and what it is worth. It has the same mark on it as yours. Thanks!
